France, wedding, vacation, too much to catch up in one post!

I'll start with one of me and my sweetheart. We have been married 15 years this summer! It sure has flown by. We are so happy to be together even after all this time. We went to South Haven a couple of weeks ago as a family. I'll have to post more later. Hello to all of you that I never get to talk to.

So, for those of you that haven't heard (or haven't seen pictures), my little sister, Mary is engaged! It is hard to believe. She met Caleb at Pensacola last year. He graduated last spring, and she has one more semester to go. They are planning a July wedding. Lissy and I are going to be bridesmaids; the boys are ringbearers, and Nathan is performing the ceremony.

He proposed to her when she came home for Christmas break. Here's the ring!

They make such a sweet couple. He's a neat guy that we all like. He is from a home-schooled family in New York and the second of nine children. We were able to meet most of his family when they came to my parents' house just after Christmas.

Gracie and I had a little fun playing peekaboo this afternoon while Nathan was at choir practice. I couldn't decide which one is my favorite, so I'll post a few of them. This one is especially for the grandmas (and grandpas).

She was playing with Sissy's scarf. She loves to find soft things around the house and cuddle.

It is a little scary that she already has her own little sense of style. I was going to put a different dress on her for evening church, but she picked this one out! Sometimes she just goes in her room and plays with her shoes.

Here's a picture of my favorite little sweetie. Wouldn't you have a hard time not giving her anything she wanted with a look like this?

Lissy and I are having a hard time not laughing when she looks at us and says, "no, no, no" in her sweet little voice when she is getting into something she knows she shouldn't. Someday I'll tell her how cute that was, but I have to be strong now.

Here is Lissy looking very feminine. (Yeah, right!) She borrowed Jonathan's football equipment and won the prize for the best dressed girl in costume in our youth group. When she asked to borrow my eyeliner, I didn't know she had this in mind!

Wow! It has been a busy two weeks. I hardly know where to begin. First, we had Levi's birthday. Here is a picture of him at church on his birthday. They sang to him and let him blow out candles. Grandma and Grandpa came up for the weekend to surprise Levi and me for our birthdays. That sure was a shock when I rounded the corner in my kitchen, and there was Mom and Dad! Thankfully, no one has a picture of my face at that moment. Nathan's parents came up Saturday, and we had a nice birthday party for him here at home.

Then, Nathan took off for Pennsylvania for a seminary class. We joined him in Ohio for the weekend and enjoyed taking my mom to Prairie Peddler for her birthday.

On Monday, Nathan, Grace, and I headed out back to Pennsylvania for the second and last week of Nathan's class. Clarks Summit is beautiful this time of year. Here is Nathan graciously posing for me.

While we were out in northeast Pennsylvania, I went to a park and took some pictures of the beautiful fall colors.

We had never been on BBC's campus before. It is a picturesque campus tucked into the mountainous countryside. This is the beautiful fountain near the entrance to campus.

Well, then for the icing on the cake. (Oh my, and too many cakes celebrating six birthdays in two weeks!) A friend in our church found two tickets to the Ohio State/Michigan State game for Nathan and Jonathan. Happy birthday, Jonathan! Nathan and Jonathan headed to Lansing for the game, and Gracie, Levi, Lissy and I stopped by Nathan's parents on the way to watch it with them.

I told them to take their picture at the game. I thought they would take it together, but here they are. I guess they were afraid the Michigan State fan beside might decide to keep their camera if they asked him to take a picture.

And here's one more for the Buckeye fans -- the treasured script "Ohio." One more win for the Bucks, 38 to 7.

It is nice to be home again, although I miss all of my family.

A Great Weekend

We enjoyed a great weekend with the Evans tribe. Here we all are Sunday afternoon eating dinner. (The gentleman on the right is Roger, a dear friend from our church.)

Here's another picture of everyone. We squeezed everyone around the table together.

It was so much fun to watch football with other Buckeyes on Saturday. Yeah, we won! The weekend seemed like it flew by. Melony and I enjoyed nice talks while we were doing dishes (of course!). We even stretched Sunday out a little extra by staying up reeaaallllyyy late on Sunday night. Nathan sent the boys out at 11 o'clock at night to play a little football again and blow off some steam. Lois, Tim, Lissy and I played games and laughed until we cried. Oh, yeah, and the point of them all coming -- Jim preached on Sunday at church. He did a great job. So many of our people told us how much they appreciated it. I leaned over to Nathan in the morning service and asked him how much he paid Jim to preach that message because I needed it so much. Thanks for a fun-filled, action-packed weekend, guys! (It may take me a few days to recover!) Love you all!

Gracie is our sweet little Buckeye. Unfortunately, most of the time she moves too quickly for me to get her picture. I found this little dress at a thrift store in Ohio this spring and saved it for Buckeye football season.

Elisabeth heard this morning that she got a part in the Anne of Green Gables play. She is Carrie Sloane, one of the schoolgirls. She was hoping for a bigger role, but they cast the older girls in the main roles. She is excited to be a part of the production. The show dates are January 11-13.

Here is a picture that Lissy and Kristi took of themselves at Melony's birthday party. When the two of them are together, it is easy to get them mixed up. They look forward to each opportunity they have to be around each other.
